# Subtitles

> Transcribe or translate video to SRT, then burn captions into the video.

# Subtitles

Transcribe (or translate) video to an SRT file, then optionally burn styled captions into the video.

Route: `/studio/subtitles`

  Subtitles may be hidden from the main sidebar. Open the route directly or deep-link with `?video=` when available.

## Modes

### Transcribe

1. Upload a video (or pass one via query).
2. Choose **Transcribe** or **Translate to English**, and set language (auto-detect supported).
3. Run the job → review / copy / **Download SRT**.
4. Optionally press **Use for burn-in** to hand the SRT to Burn-in mode.

### Burn-in

1. Provide video + SRT.
2. Pick a style preset (simple, glass, whisper, and others), position, shadow, and resolution.
3. Run → download the captioned video.

## Credits

Each tool quotes cost via Studio’s cost API (`transcribe-video`, `burn-subtitles`). Without enough credits, Studio opens the Extra credits flow.

## Tips

* Clean audio improves transcription accuracy.
* Review SRT timing before burn-in on client deliverables.
* Keep a copy of the SRT for edits without re-burning the whole video.
